Mention Canterbury and anyone immediately thinks of the Cathedral. With the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church, it forms one of Britain’s rare World Heritage Sites. And at Rochester there is the second oldest Cathedral in England .

Canterbury Cathedral was founded 597 AD when St Augustine was sent by Pope Gregory the Great, as a missionary to establish his seat in Canterbury. www.canterbury-cathedral.org/

Both Rochester and Canterbury are steeped in history and each offer a wealth of architecture adapted to suit modern needs of the visiting public
